Learn about the guy who ROCKS you out of bed in the mornings...

I call Arizona home. I grew up with two marines for parents. We moved around quite a bit, but finally settled down in the suburbs of Phoenix, Az. I graduated high school in 1988.

After that, I pretty much did nothing but have a good time. I ended up going to a radio broadcasting trade school so I could do something with my life. I got done with that in mid 1993. I moved to Idaho for my first radio gig in October 93.

I spent three long years working at a tiny little country station in Mountain Home. It was a good learning experience, but boy was it boring there! In 1996, I got a job offer in Klamath Falls. It was another country station. Dammit! I was really trying to get out of that format because, well, I never really liked country music.

So I moved here in 1996 to do the afternoon show on KLAD-FM when it was just KLAD. After two years doing the K-LAD thing, I finally had the opportunity to get out of the country format!! I took a gig in Sun Valley, Idaho, doing a morning show on an alternative rock station. It was a pretty cool station and a fun place to live. I only spent the winter there for a few different reasons. #1 – it was pretty spendy living there. #2 – I wasn’t getting the experience I had hoped for.

Well it was a good thing I left Klamath Falls on good terms. My old boss from KLAD kept in contact with me. One day he told me of a company, New Northwest Broadcasters, buying KLAD and KAGO AM/FM and another signal that wasn’t even on the air yet. He asked me if I wanted to move back and work for the group of stations. “Sure!” I said. So, in 1999 I moved back to Klamath Falls.

They put me on in the morning on 102.9. Back then, that station was a soft adult contemporary format. YIKES! Talk about painful!! I was doing a morning show, trying to wake people up, but had to play crap like Celine Dion and Michael Bolton. Very painful indeed! That lasted about a year.

Finally I got moved over to 99.5 The Rock! I was one of “Those Guys In The Morning”, with B.S. Mike. Remember him? He was a fun guy, and we had a great time on the air together. He ended up moving back to Arizona, where he was from, too. I flew solo for a while longer on The Rock, when it was pretty much just classic rock.

In 2001, I got a call from a station group in Bend, Oregon. They stole me away from Klamath Falls to work on their pop music station. It was a pretty cool gig with a good company, in a really fun area of Oregon. It was a good thing I moved there, too. That’s where I met my wife, Sheryl!!

We started dating at the end of 2002. She decided that she wanted to live in Colorado, so she got herself a job there and told me she was hittin’ the road. I decided to follow her. I got a gig at a station in Aspen, while she got a job with the same company, in the Vail station. I spent a month in Aspen then got transferred over to the Vail station where she was working! We had a great time living in Colorado!! We got married in 2004, and in 05 decided it was time to settle down, buy a place and start a family. Sorry but it is entirely too expensive to do that in Vail.

It’s a good thing I left Klamath Falls on good terms! Yep, I got another offer to come back and work for the group here, once again!! Of course I took the job!! Since moving here, my wife and I have bought a house and had two kids!!! Dillon was born in November 2006, and Megan was born in May 2008!! We’re pretty happy living here in Klamath Falls. And that’s my story!
