BIO:
I drive "special needs bus" for the Klamath Co School Dist. I have been with them for 20 years and really enjoy my job. The kids I haul are really "special". I also have a home business-"Barb's Cakes and Cookies" that I have had for 20 years also. I specialize in wedding cakes but do all occasion. (Makes it a LITTLE hard when you are dieting!!)
I am married with two grown children. I show quarter horses and have gone as far as Fort Worth TX with my daughter to show in the quarter horse youth world show (twice!). They are my first love (please, don't tell my husband) and 2 years ago I bought a Harley! (So I can see my husband!) We have been taking short trips to the coast and around and I am really loving it! Hope to travel a lot more this summer-that and show my horse! I have a 2 year old granddaughter that is the light of my life and also shows horses with me and her mom. What a delight!!
I have always been heavy!! I can not remember the last time that I was even close to my healthy weight-I guess I must have pasted it sometime in my life! Growing up the youngest of 7 (all girls!!) I was feed to keep shut up! Boy, have those pounds stayed! I have always been active and pretty much did what I wanted to do so didn't seem to be a problem. My doc always told me that it would eventually catch up with me and sure enough he was right! I started having some health problems and could see things going down hill fast-so about a year and a half ago I decided nows the time. I have a 2 year old to chase and man do they move!
I entered the contest for support! I have dropped about one half the weight that I need to and need some help to keep going! When I heard this on the radio-I thought perfect!! someone to do this with and have to answer to!(you seriously don't think I would be caught eating a big mac when my name has been all over the radio do you?) So here I am and I also thought I might be encouragement to some others too! besides- I am ferciously competitive! (I will win!!) I hope to lose 40 # in our 14 weeks and have been doing real well. Can't wait till our first weight-in! Hope the rest of the team is also doing well!
The holidays will be a little hard just because of the hectic schedule. I will be fine though and having the gym for an out will be great!! When things get too hectic, I will just go there and hide (my family will never think to look there!) After the contest I will enjoy every minute of my gym memership (remember-I plan on winning!) and will use it to keep me at my goal for the rest of my life!!
Just remember-- NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS! Good Luck! Barb
